Monet - Melbourne Victoria
Monet is the happiest, tail waggiest and sweetest dog you could possibly imagine. He loves being with friends anywhere including the beach!!
He loves life and loves the world. Fantastic with everyone, kids, cats, adults, other dogs, in fact, all creatures great and small.
Monet is however disabled. Upon entering care with SPR Inc, we had to actually remove Monet's eyeballs. Due to gross negligence on his last owners behalf, Monet's eyes developed ulcers which were not given the vet care needed, and sadly this beautiful young man lost his vision when his eye lens ruptured.
Removing his eye balls was to also remove the pain he has endured in his short life - but Monet knows no different, he was happy before surgery and is just as happy now - be it now comfortable and pain free.
Sadly, Monets disability doesn't stop there. He has also endured luxating patella surgery on both his back legs, again this is to ensure he is pain free.
Over the next few months, Monet will become fitter and fitter and will consequently really start to enjoy his walks, a run around the oval and a bit of a clown when ever the mood takes him as his legs heal and he gets stronger and stronger every day.
So Monet, as beautiful and as delightful as he is, is what we humans would call special needs. Although, Monet does not agree with this description as his world has never had moving pictures - as he has likely been blind since a young pup, possibly just a few weeks old.
Consequently, he has his lack of vision is well and truly under control. His other senses have taken over and he just LOVES to live - and boy doesn't he deserve that.
If you would like to discuss Monet further, you are welcome to give me a call. My name is Amanda, and I have nursed Monet through his surgeries. I am also the president of SPR Inc and I personally own a blind dog - who is the light of my life and my very best friend. And whoa bitide anyone who thinks my blind boy misses a thing, as I can assure you he does not and nor does Monet. They are happy happy boys who simply do not have vision, but who do have untold love to give.
Monet's vetwork will certainly extend to beyond the $3000.00 mark before he leaves our care. A dog of his age would normally entail a $550.00 adoption fee, however, in Monet's case, we are happy to discuss what a suitable adoption fee is to ensure he has the very best home he can possibly have for the rest of his long life. So the discussion is open.
Monet will need to stay in care with myself for the next couple of months, however, if you think he is the dog for you, he would be absolutely delighted to receive as many visits as possible. This young man is very very special to SPR Inc and as such we are more than happy to help this man and his forever family in any way we can.
